What you need to get started:
To create a stamping location for others to visit you will need the following:
- A plastic container that seals tightly
- Pencil
- A stamp pad
- A rubber stamp that will identifies you as a family, group, or individual ex. animal, symbol, landmark, activity (It can be anything you choose, but be creative so that you don't have the same stamp as someone else. If you do, it's not a big deal. It is just fun to see everyone else's trademark.) You may purchase a stamp very inexpensively, make your own, or have one made to your liking.
- A passport (create your own or use ours)
To start exploring stamping locations you will need the following:
- Pencil & Sharpener
- A stamp pad
- An identical rubber stamp of the one that you left at your stamping location (if you made one).
- Your own passport to collect stamps from the locations you have visited (again make your own or use ours).
- A list of stamping locations to visit (check often for new locations).
That's it!
What to do:
To set up a stamping location:
Put together a stamping kit using the items listed above. Everything goes in the plastic container. Easy! Now decide where you are going to put it. Think of a place that you and your family love to visit: a park, trail, library, museum, rec center, etc. Be creative. Go to the place that you have decided and find somewhere to put it, hiding it so that it isn't visible to everyone passing by. You may want to choose somewhere close to where you live so that you can check it often to see how many people have found it. If it is private property please be considerate and ask permission. You may even be able to place it inside a location (museum or library) if you ask. Feel free to set up several stamping locations. Smile! After you have placed it somewhere come back to AdventureStamping.blogspot.com and list it as a stamping location. There are instructions on how to do this under Stamping Locations.
To start collecting stamps and exploring exciting places:
Put together your own stamping kit (or one for each of your kids, smile) using the items listed above. I would recommend keeping it in the car so that it is handy and you will be ready if you are in an area that has a stamping location. Now you're ready!
